God i love those old epiphones! 😁 Shame music123 don't ship catologues outside the US. Is that really the only place you can get them? There isn't any info on the epiphone website. 😕 Aren't there any pics of the reissue anywhere?

i was looking for a pic of the re-issues for youse guys (it's only in the catalogue so far), but got distracted at all this other epi loveliness from NAMM. they've gone crazy with re-issuing older cooler gibson models.

SQ-180 (Paul Simon style) can't see the double moustache pickguards in this but they're there, see the rosette at the bottom of the soundhole?

they're also doing the casino with a bigsby again, and the ES-135 (cross between ES-175 and ES-335, just looks like the former though).

now all they need to do is make a joe perry boneyard LP without that ridiculous finish. seriously, that is the finest epi LP. it has Peter Green-style out-of-phase in the middle position, and gibson burstbucker PAFs. it's just got a douchey finish.

The SQ-180 with the double pickguard is the Everly version, Paul.

Nice to know they've reissued it, I've heard they're quite comfortable to play (yep, they even made lefty versions).

But it's symetrical? Surely you just swap the nut and restring?

Nope, it's not that simple, as the bridge saddle is set on an angle (i.e. fits the scale length for right hand). A new groove would have to be cut accordingly for a left hand version.

Fair enough, but you do sometimes see people with acoustics which have been flipped like that, maybe they're not too fussy about intonation, or just don't really know much about guitars.

removing/replacing an acoustic bridge in that way would take more effort and money than a lefty who's playing a righty is willing to spare, i guess.

yEAH, prob. 'cause Gibson stopped making the P-100's a couple years ago and most likely shipped the old stock to the overseas MFR's.

Still, you can always just swap the 100 out for a P-90.
