Jag-Stang Pick Ups?

i am thinking of gettin dimarzio can anyone recommend a good combo for a great metal/hard rock sound? also umm would i need to get F spacing Pick ups or standard for the jag-stang?

I'd recommend EMG active pickups.

I had an 81 in there and it got a great crunchy sound. Now I'm trying to sell it so I've taken it out. Its a great pickup for hard rock.

Mad-Mike uses an 81 and a SA-1 in his jagstang and it sounds great.

For some reason, this guitar sounds better with an EMG than any jackson/ESP/Ibanez

For Metal/Hardrock i recommend one of these: ''EMG 81, Dimarzio Super Distortion, Seymour Duncan Dimebucker, Seymour Duncan JB TB-4, or a Seymour Duncan Invader. 😉

I think you need an F-spaced bucker to match the magnet poles with the strings. Not 100% sure though...... 😕

I went ahead, i check some tone charts and heard a few and im going with seymour duncan, emg cost more to install at sam ash and i dont like soldering crap lol so i dont have confidence to do it by myself, yeah i got seymour duncan sh-6 for the heavy metal sound and seymour duncan ssl3 oh yeah I can wait for this get here and get that sound i always wanted.

Get EMG-HZs or something - HZ to EMG is what Squier is to fender. They're still decent.

You can always get them second hand as well. Much cheaper 😉

like i said if i wasnt scared or worried about having to mess up my guitar wiring i would do it but my local store charges about 60-70 per pick up for emgs i can get 2 seymours that i love the sounds get them installed for 70

Wiring EMGs is easy to do yourself. You could even do guitar wiring with terminal blocks - no soldering

You still gotta solder the Seymour Duncan pickups in. Same as you would do with the EMG's. Only thing that changes is you gotta swap out the pots for 25K pots and add a stereo jack with a 9 volt battery lead to it. Not difficult at all. YouTube some video's on soldering. My best advice for soldering is to buy your solder from RadioShack, a really thin gauge solder, it melts quick w/ less heat (shiney clean joint) as oppose to the solder you'd buy for plumbing at the hardware store (takes alot of heat to melt, ugly joints).
