paul_ is it the MIJ's that have the offensively red pickguard and the CIJ's that have the brown tort, or was it variable from guitar to guitar? were the red ones still four-ply?
Gavin I had a '97/'98 CIJ and it had a 3ply brown p/guard, if that's any help. Actually, I'm not 100% on the 3ply, but BobArseCake owns it now, you could pm him.

Mad-Mike Mine's a 97' it has a brown tort, unless that's not stock, which is a possiblilty, anyone know of the CIJ Jaguars had a hole for the string mute in the stock pickguard? Because mine does.
paul_ mine's a '97 or '98 with brown tort by 4-ply i mean w/b/w/tort, the only reason i find it odd is because it causes the pickguard to sit higher than the control plates. i've never checked other jags to see if they're like this.
