Should I build???

I already own a jagstang but I would Like another one, I would like to build but i am not sure if i should. what do you guys think?

cheaper to buy then build.... but if you enjoy building it's worth it.

well it would be my first build and now i am thinking of building a firebird or something

If you install good new quality parts, it's gonna cost you more to build from scratch. If you got a guitar bone yard in your garage you probally can get by.

A Jagstang....

Home made Body/Paint - $100

Neck - $150 - $200 (more like $250)

Tuners - $30 - $60

Tremolo - $60

Pickups - $100+

Pickguard - $50

Control Plate - $10

Electronics - $30+

That's a rough estimate of $500 - $600. Surely you can find a Jagstang for around $350+, if you look hard enough. If you hit craigslist hard, you may be able to a deal. I got a toronado, tele & duo sonic this week on the list, for a good price... but I just don't see offsets/shortscale guitars listed them much there.

My dad and my grampa are going to help me, my dad is good at math and likes guitars (he plays) , and my grampa builds many things such as cars (I am helping him with his 1932 chevy coupe, my favorite car ever)

The goal of your first build is "to finish"... not be perfect. The 2nd & 3rd build usually involve pulling all the parts off your first build 😛 ask anybody it's true.

My second build is coming round this easter and is doing just that.
