No demos just yet guys, but I will say that this thing beats the crap out of my NYC reissue. I mean really pounds it into the ground. It's far more aggressive and clear, but still got that delicious grind.

And it's a loud bastard! With volume at 10 o'clock it's as loud as the reissue at 1 o'clock.

So happy. 😁

I already went ahead and modded it for true bypass too, when I first tried it I was losing some note clarity on my clean signal, got a 3pdt switch in the post as well so wired that right in, no longer a problem. 😀

I don't think these are the original knobs. For a start, they fit on the wrong way round so that noon is actually at 6 o'clock (I messed with them before I took the pic, but put them back now 'cause I don't want to damage the pot shafts).

But they are still cooler than them big flat ones the reissues come with now. 😁

It really does sound exactly like a lot of the tones on Siamese Dream as well...

My favourite setting has to be with the tone control bypassed, sustain fully cranked, it just absolutely howls.

Its just the standard version 5 IC tone bypass set up, mines exactly the same although capacitors do vary it type, size and color from unit to unit.

Oh right, hmm, the guy who sold it me had this to say about it:

"There has been a tone mod on it, which I don't understand, but when I pictured and asked on a forum I was told it was the "standard and best" mod for the op-amp versions and helps to do something involving the tone stack."

Apparently the people on that forum didn't know what they were talking about. 🙄

It does look a bit sketchy though, I mean the resistors and that just sort of balanced on each other, and on the wrong side of the board...

Wtf? The board is like less than half the size of the enclosure, that's crazy. Muffs could be so much smaller. (But so much less cool imo.)

As much as I love the BMTW I hate that its not in a big box. Big muffs are historical, and so is th ebig boxes they've always came in.
