Hey everyone, new member here with my first Jag! An '86/'87 MIJ sunburst!
The previous owner swapped out the bridge for a TOM, and put SD pickups in: JB jr in the bridge and Hot For Jag in the neck position. They also changed the wiring a bit, disconnecting the rhythm circuit (although the rhythm/lead switch acts as a killswitch, so they screwed that up a bit!), and the bottom 3 controls are on/off switches for the pickups: one for the neck, and one for each coil of the bridge. Also the tone control doesn't work for some reason... It does something, but doesn't act like a tone control. 😕
Anyway:

And you get to see some of my crappy room! No idea how I manage to fit 2 amps, 2 guitars and pedals in here... 😆
The pictures really don't do the finish justice, it's the nicest sunburst I have ever seen on a guitar.
I'm going to fix the wiring when I next go home, where I've got soldering equipment.
There are a couple of problems though:
1) The bridge buzzes, and not in the usual way; the actual bridge piece vibrates in the holes sometimes, because it obviously isn't the best fit. Any ideas on how to stop this?
2) The bridge pickup sits ridiculously close to the strings, and it won't move down. This picture shows it as best as I can with a crappy webcam, which is all I have for pictures.

Is it just that the JB Jr is a very tall pickup? I guess I'll have a look when I go over the wiring, but it'd be nice if anyone had any ideas, as it's a bit difficult to balance the pickups like this and I prefer pickups to be a bit further from the strings.
3) My tremolo arm doesn't have a screw thread on it at all, so it just sits loose in the holder. Is this normal? Doesn't seem right, and it'd be nice to be able to tighten it.
😀
