pickup behind bridge?!

does anyone think this could fly on a jag stang? it would mean routing metal. i am not that familiar with how different pickups are mounted, but it was sugested to me that a lipstick pickup or a tele neck position pickup would be the least intrusive options. also i am thinking about getting an old ####ed up microphonic pickup in the position. one that you could scream into.

any thoughts?

It would be very hard to do on a Jag-Stang, but if you could pull it off then it would be really cool. Lipstick or Tele neck pickups would be the least intrusive visually, but imo a Jag pickup would look pretty cool... Or a Mustang pickup.

Absolutely not. The springs would be in the way.

There are some flat(ter) pickups out there that you could probably slip behind, but it is not a great idea on a jagstang. Jazzys and jags are preferable for putting a pickup there because there's plenty of room.

dont some tele neck pickups screw onto pickguards. if so, couldnt i just mount one onto the metal plate?

also i have the trem disabled in my jagstang. that means i have no use for the springs right? sorry, im not that familiar with how guitars work.

The break angle from the bridge does'nt give you much room even with the springs removed, also the short distance of string travel would mean less audible harmonics.

Jags and Jazzys would be way better, or even other tail pieces like the ones on guitars like the Epiphone Casino.

Piezo and all sorts of crazy pickups are made for acoustics. They are all really small, some glue to the guitar top or fit under the f*cking saddle 😲

This one fits under an acoustic saddle, the red strip is the actual pickup.

Not saying that is the one you want. But you don't have to use a conventional pickup...
