Rhythm/Lead Switch - '65 Jaguar

I have a 1965 Jaguar in very good condition except that the rhythm/lead switch is just about worn out from usage over the years. It crackles when touched and does not engage unless you fiddle with it - you know what I mean.

I really want to keep the guitar all original for investment purposes, but the fact is you really can't play it without a fix. Curious to hear any opinions on having the switch replaced or leaving it as is. I guess the real question is, does replacing it affect the value?

It could be very carefully taken apart and cleaned up/contacts bent into position. I'd be very careful with it though.

I'd try switch cleaner first but if it becomes a real annoyance you could swap it but keep the old one in the case of a resale. I was going to say i dont think collectors would be too fussed about the switch but im probably wrong there.
