So, (I dunno if this sounds like blasphemy to some of ya) I wanna add a humbucker into the neck of my Mustang.
It's got a SD Custom Custom in the bridge right now and a stock neck pickup. (It's a CIJ 2005).
It just isn't doing it for me tone wise. My other guitar is all stock Japanese HH Special Jag (The black & chrome one) and i LOVE that guitar. I LOVE it.
The Mustang is my second in command though and i do use it but it's just not as responsive as the Jag. (I use lots of controlled feedback and delay, with tons of fuzz sometimes). So it goes from sparkly cleans to fuzz in many instances. The Jag deals with it fine, and the mustang not so much.
Basically, what do you think would be a good pickup to pair with the custom custom?
Or am i fooling myself, will this mod not make much difference?
I could trade it in and get one of those new MIM Special player Jags with two enforcer humbuckers.... But they won't give me a decent price for the mustang. And i do like it.
