mac recording software...

I've just got my hands on a brand new MAC book pro! I was wondering what recording software u would recommend. I'm looking for cheap here, I'm not opposed to an older version of something so that I can get it cheaper.

garageband is good. My friend has it. if you can try to get a hold of Pro Tools 8.

I use Logic Express 9 on my mac, and as fun as Garageband can be, Logic is light years beyond it. It has Amp Designer and Pedalboard, which are very useful and fun. Check out the Logic section on Apple's site; they have a short video on those two features.
