hi im new here and i want to customize my jagstang that i got last year. Its a fiesta red 2004 jagstang and i absolutely love it. the questions i would like to ask are as follows:

1. where can i purchase a new possibly diffrent color pick guard jagstang.

2. where can i purchase a comp stripe for it and is it difficult to put on

3. im planning on putting a jb on my bridge do i need an sh or th for it im a little confused.

4. i would like to put new control knobs on it and i found some on ebay i would like but do they need to be a specific kind type im a noob with guitar equip/accer.

and that should do it i would appreciate all of your help and ill show you some pics when im done modding my new jag should be nice

add SD classic stack or DM hs 2 or SD SSL-1 or Fender Texas especial on singles

Hi! Welcome to the forums!

For your questions:

1. there is a guy who posts here by the name of Augustus McRae who makes pickguards. He can also be found at http://www.shortscale.org/

2. Comp stripes were originally painted onto the body of the Competition series Mustangs. So you can either get your guitar refinished with them on OR you can purchase some automotive sticker material and cut stripes out of it. Look on ebay though, as there is always someone selling some.

3. I dont know what you mean by "sh" and "th" but I'm assuming you mean pole piece spacing. The JB comes in two types: "humbucker" (gibson spaced) and "trembucker" (fender spaced). You would want the trembucker variant, though it really makes little difference.

4. I'm sure jagstangs use split shaft pots, so depending on the types of knobs they should fit (if they are strat style, they definately will and if they feature a tightening screw, you'll be fine)

hey thanks i really like your custom jagstang where did you get the matching peghead for you custom does warmoth do refinishing what color is your custom by the way also i meant sh and i meant sh-4 and tb-4 so it doesnt make a much diffrence then

Ahh you meant by model numbers with the SB and TB. I would still aim to get the TB-4 model as then it is spaced correctly for your Jag-stang BUT if it is hard to get one, the SB-4 will still work, just the pole pieces wont line up.

My JS was made by a luthier who is on these boards by the name of Cross. Warmoth can do such things as well.

ok thanks alot man i was also thinking of putting a tune o matic on mine but it just seems like alot of work do you think its worth it or whats your input on the tune o matic

Tune-o-matics are designed for Gibson, not Fenders, hence they have different string spacing and a different radius. The spacing isnt a major problem but the radius can be. Also many tune-o-matics have quiet pointy saddles which tend wear against strings a lot easy (especially when using the trem)

I say stick with the default bridge
