F-SPACE on JAGMASTER???

Does the Jagmaster use F-Space style of pickups? I'm replacing the stock seymour duncans with a super distortion and paf pro and it has an option for F-Space. Do I need these? I know F-Space is for Fender guitars because of the string spacing but is Squire the exception?

I've got a Vista Jag and the pickups in it (not 100% sure if they're stock but they probably are) aren't F Spaced... It makes no noticable difference to the sound, I'd say only get them if you would be that bothered by the aesthetics.

Well I just wanted the strings to line up right with the polepieces lol. Im kind of picky haha. I have a 2007 Jagmaster. I'll find out sooner or later. I ordered the pickups i wanted with f-spacing. There gonna come in this week. Ill post pictures.

I think the same question was posed last week...

I also am not sure if they are f-spaced pickups. The may not be because of the whole metric/imperial thang.

However, they are supposed based directly on Seymour Duncan HB 103's or whatever they are, just made with cheaper materials and cheaper labour.

Whip of a measuring tape, measure them, then to to the music store and measure a 'bucker in a Fender HSS strat. Should tell you 😉

So I gut the pups last Friday. Took some pictures and my comp was acting funny so I couldn't get the pictures on the web till now. I'm going this Friday to Wise Music, that's the name of the guitar store I go to, and gonna have them install the pups for me because I don't know how to do that sh!t and don't have things to do it. Then ill take some more pictures and post them for who ever cares.

I'll keep you updated on the F-Space thing lol.

Do you mean the toggle switch? It was put there by the previous owner of the the guitar. I really don't like it there.

Nice Jagmaster. You planning on modding it or just leaving it stock (well apart from the switch...)?

Well I'm gonna switch the pups as you can see and I really don't know else to do on it lol. I don't know what kind of bridge will go good with it. Change the nut to a bone nut lol. Get new tuners maybe Grover or some Vintage Strat ones. I did like fenderrealm's idea of the Jaguar pickup control plate.

I freaking hate that toggle switch being there. I try not to hit it and my hand always hits it lol. When I'm on the neck pup next thing you know i hit it and I'm at the bridge pup and vice versa ☹ it frustrates me at times.

You own a Vista Jag I see. I keep hearing that their better then the now and day Jagmasters. Ive heard both and there both awesome. I know with a few upgrades my Jagmaster will be a kick ass guitar. Its my main guitar and probably will be until I get a 62 Reissued Jaguar. What are the differences between the Vista Jag and the now Jag. FYI mines from 07. I know Vista's were made in Japan and are of "higher quality" but why? Whats different? Comparing both guitars with everything stock.

If you don't like it there, put it back where it should be and drop in another tone pot. When I got my mods done, that was on my list but the luthier forgot to do it and I had been without a guitar fro ages and didn't want to wait anymore.

Personally, I think it's not the smartest place to put the switch.

Vista jags are made out of spare fender Jag parts, so it was just a jag without extra switching.

they are made out of better woods, the necks feel nicer and they sound better.

but new jagmaster are still really good.

i had one but i got sick of the neck, but that's just me.

Foxy's correct, except that Vista Jags actually have a Jaguar neck and a Jazzy body, which are shaped very slightly differently to Jag ones. Tbh I've never played any Jagmaster except my own, so I can't really comment on the differences in feel or sound... My Jag sounds very J Mascis esque though, the pickups aren't very high output at all so it sounds like a Jazzy but a bit fatter, if that confusing description helps lol.

I really want a Silver Sparkle Strat scale Jagmaster though... Only ever seen one, and couldn't play it at the time.

Weren't the Vistas made from basswood??? Now and day Jags are made from alder which I really like. I love the neck from my Jag...its amazing, well for me it is.

Yeah iirc mine's Basswood. It's pretty soft and dents quite easily.

YAY! I got my Jagmaster back today with the new pups. WOW! I think my Jag went threw puberty. It sounds awesome. With the whole F-Space thing...it looks like the pole place lines up pretty well with the strings. I got a new toggle switch, they told me they had to install a new switch cuz the old one was all sh!tty. My battery for my camera is charging so ill take pics tomorrow and post them. Now im gonna play my guitar some more. 😀
