YouMinusWhy I'm going to build a jazzmaster styled guitar this summer. I figured I'd buy a neck, alot simpler and I dont want to ruin a such a crucial component.I was planning on buying a neck from Warmoth.com. Just wondering if a Mustang neck would work, or does it have to be a jaguar/jazzmaster neck. Thanks
JaguarOW for a jazzmaster, use a jazzmaster or strat neck, they have a 25.5" scale, whereas the mustangs and jags have a shorter 24" scale
Robbmonster To add to the above comment...If you are building from scratch, you can use almost any neck you like, since you control the dimensions of the neck pocket, bridge placement, and so on.If you want it to be shortscale, you can.

Robbmonster Oh, I can imagine it alright. 😁I always thought a Jazzy would sond even awesomer with a short scale and some heavier strings.
Disappearer Heavy strings ftw, although I prefer Strat scale personally... My main guitar is Short Scale though.
