I had a Lace gold chrome dome and that too was microphonic in the wrong situation, the Red lace is more or less a humbucker i believe.
If the screws are out the switches should come out. Have you got the scratchplate off? Daft question but they wont come out otherwise. If so give them a little push, they may be stuck with a little gunk from years of playing (if its an old guitar).
