High quality jazzmaster and jaguar Headstock Decals

Hello everyone,

I build guitars for folks on occasion (mostly classical and Acoustic) but my main gig is winding custom pickups and teaching guitar repair and guitar building. However, in my personal collection I have several Fender and Gibson guitars that are my own, built for myself and never intending to be sold as a real fender or Gibson.

Even though they are made by me, I still like to put the Fender decal on to make it look finished. I had Decal Joe's contact info and bought some decals for restoration of "real" Fender guitars and basses in addition to some of my personal projects and now I am trying to track him down again to make another purchase.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in a direction to contact him or if he is not available then maybe someone else. I am also restoring a Les Paul Junior and I need decals for it or ideally someone who can build me a silkscreen.

Is it just me, or does creating replica copies of these labels seem wrong? This enables people to create fraudulent guitars, no? This makes it difficult to know what is authentic when purchasing a used instrument.

Just my 3 cents.

And that is why I was cagey in my response.

I know fully well where to get great decals, but I just ain't saying. I found out by earning people's trust over a long period of time.

I never even bought the decals anyway. I'm not in the business of trying to fool anyone, so I thought better of it.

Yeah... i don't really see the point. who cares if other people think it's a real fender or not...

theres a guy i found through google that makes quality decals but specifically states on his website not to post links on forums, sorry i can't help more but if ya search fender decals it should be easy to find.

the reason they make them is for people doing restorations i.e using official fender parts and respraying or varnishing. i used them when i refished my jag hh and if they wasn't available my headstock would've had to have stayed black. that being said i do agree with what ya saying if a guitar isn't built by fender it shouldn't really say it on the headstock, i plan on building a jagstang when my other projects are done and it aint gonna say fender on it unless i get a official neck but thats doubtfull.

People have their reasons.

I'm doing and Esquire project soon, turning a Squier Tele into an Esquire.

I was going to use decals to change the 'Squier' to 'Fender' simply because 'Squier Esquire' sounds ridiculous. Probably why they have never made one.

But I decided against it, and I'm probably just going so sand away the word 'tele'.

ye man i saw the thread you posted about the esquire project am looking forward to seeing it all put together, and you should definately keep the squire decal in place whith so many artists having squire signature guitars and the ever growing respect for squires, people who aint loaded and can't afford to buy a fender or gibson guitar can buy a squire and not have to worry bout the stigma attached to the brand. i'm fixing my squire tele up at the mo but because of a new neck it aint gonna say squire anymore, tho i'm gonna do my own lil signature design instead....it's nearly finished actually so there will be pics posted soon 😁
