The funny part is I've had the body for this one awhile. The Neck on it started off on that body when I bought the guitar in 2005 for $80 at a Pawn Shop....stripped of parts (missing knobs, pickup covers, no strings. I moved the neck to my 80's DiMarzio body (the one on the very first picture) which I had painted black with $.99 rattlecan paint (really horrible cheap stuff that liked to crease as it dried most of the time). I'll probably be repainting that body, likely Foam Green.
That same neck was installed on my Jazzmaster for the last six months of last year before I put the maple blocks and binding neck on it. Squier Affinity necks are my favorite 25.5" scale necks because they are so skinny and fast for me.
Either way, I had planned to build this guitar for a few years, but I was more concerned with getting the big four I have.
I have more necks and bodies coming up including 2 Kramer Striker bodies, an Aria Vee body, 2 Explorer Bodies (Arbors), a modified First Act ME-431 I'm considering turning into a 12-string, and the aforementioned DiMarzio strat body. I also may be building yet another Ash Jazzmaster with the extra Neck I have.
I've tried to keep strats around, but I don't play them as much since my favorites are the Jaguar, Jazzmaster, Mustang, and Jag-Stangd, but there are some sounds on the Stratocaster I really really like, and also the Stratocaster was the first Fender I ever got into (I got into the Strat first, Tele Second, then I found the Jaguar and Mustang, then the Jazzmaster and Jag-Stang came later).
