Your favorite strings on a Mustang?

It's time to change my strings and maybe time to experiement a bit. Two questions:

First, what brand and gauge strings do you prefer for your Mustang?

Up to now, I've stuck with the traditional 10s that Mustangs always came with (mine is an old '65 and the brand I'm using is D'Adderio XL Nickel Wound). So a second question is, if I make a small jump to 11s what are the chances I will not have to re-intonate?

You should'nt need to intonate again Doug.

I've always used d'addario 10s on my 65 and i tune a whole step down (DGCFAD) at that.

Thanks, Fran. Think I'll notice much difference in tone with 11s?

Yeah i think so. I dont know if its me because i use 10s but going up to 11s seems to be a bigger difference than going from 9s to 10s. I've had them on a few guitars and the cleans seemed to be bolder with extra volume somehow.

If you do try 11's, once you get used to them, I promise you will never want to use anything else. I use them on a Les Paul and the cleans are very chimey and clear, and when Overdriven or Distorted it's just huge and incredible.
