I love cheap guitars.

Found one of these cheap and was thinking of picking it up.

Anyone ever played with one of these? opinions?

I recently sold mine.

cheap...is a good word for it.

basswood body, crappy plastic tuners. made in Indonesia

the pickups are super58s, very bright sounding. they can be coil tapped.

the body is very heavy, the neck is thin but wide...too wide for my taste.

the action is high, good for slide players. ...finger pickers will have a harder time.

if you are really into these specks, just swap the pickups.

don't pay more than $200 usd for it.

I picked it up. And I have to say after some cleaning up and adjusting I really think it's neat!

I thought about changing the pickups but they definately have their own sound and will stay in the guitar unless I find something better at a cheap price to throw in I don't plan on super investing a bunch into it.

After this and the Artcore I picked up, I have to say I am becoming an Ibanez fan!

how do you feel about the neck??

I found it too wide and thin for my hands

Ibanez has some quality gear when you get past their speedmachine guitars

the 1980s DDL delays are my fave, and I have a 1976 Phasertone that's awesome

they're not so great at making amps though

anybody heard of an Ibanez version of a les paul done recently? My friend told me he just bought one. He didn't say whether it was vintage or not tho...Were Ibanez Les Paul's done for awhile?

The neck is different and alot less chunky then I am use to. But still reaaly enjoy playing it.

they have a les paul style guitar on their website so it's probably that

Ibanez used to make Les Paul clones but i think Gibson hit them with a lawsuit or something like that. So they stopped making them.

The only Ibanez LP models that they are making/producing right now are the: ''Art'' models i believe.

I played one of the Jet Kings at a music store once. I wasn't a fan. Someone else summed it up very well when they said the guitar felt 'cheap'

To say nothing of the fact that the fretboard hadn't been oiled for about 75 years. Looked and felt like sandpaper.

It took a few hours of setting up and reconditioning but I have to say that for what I paid it is pretty damn nice.

i have an Ibanez ORM1 it's in the high end of that ibanez family. some people have picked up that guitar and loved the neck, others hate it. not like many others i have played, so far from that fender feel but i love it because of that and it's a great contrast to my mustang.

but i did change the pup, because i hate Ibanez pups. it now has a Jb Jr.

FWIW, Matt Hollywood has been playing a Jet King on tour since he rejoined The Brain Jonestown Massacre. I don't know what (if any) mods he might have made.
