Seriously though, I swear there was a topic exactly the same as this one just before I joined...

Judging by the type of music you like, go for the Muff... Maybe a Russian one instead of a USA if you want tEh Mudhoneyzzz etc. However, get a chorus if you want Nevermind era Nirvana or Ten era Pearl Jam tones, but you can get a really good Danelectro chorus for anything from a quarter of to half of the price of the Small Clone... So consider that.

What specific (i.e. bands) sound are you going for? I know you like Mudhoney and obviously Nirvana, but what are yr other influences? This info will help me give a better answer.

Get a Russian Muff. They're discontinued but you'll be able to find one on eBay no problem like I did (but whatever you do, don't try to pull the knobs off... Speaking from personal experience 😉 ).

The Black Keys use one, Mudhoney use them, they're (arguably) based on Hendrix's sound... Need I continue? If however in a few weeks you still want a chorus, get a Danelectro FAB Chorus. They're plastic but you'll be fine unless you stamp on it like an angry child and they sound great for Come As You Are type stuff as well as Hendrix-y Univibe stuff. You can get one for under $20 at somewhere like Guitarcenter iirc. If yr still doubtfull look up demos on Youtube.

Dan Auerbach uses all sorts of fuzzy distortions. Mainly a Sovtek (not Russian) Muff and an Earthquaker Devices Hoof Fuzz. For real fuzz toanz, he uses an Analogman Sunface iirc. But the man is a real pedal whore and has a lot of amazing pedals.

This is a question that makes more sense. Comparing having 2 dirt pedals to have 1 can of bees + a chorus. Before what you asked was: would you get a chorus pedal if you already had a can of bees dirt pedal. Two pedals which do completely different things.

Hence the confusion.

In my opinion, I'd:

Get rid of the DS-1. Get the small clone and the big muff. Why have a decent pedal and a #### pedal, when you could have 2 decent pedals.
