Custom Pickguards

So i've noticed alot of you guys have made your own custom pickguards (among other incredible customizations) and was wondering if it was a do it yourself job/you sent away for the customization and you installed it/had someone else install it for you? What sites (besides warmoth) are great for pickguard customizations for japanese ri mustangs?

*does anyone also have a template for a japanese RI mustang pickguard, I'm looking to make an old record i got for a dollar into a cool pickguard! 😲

could you not trace round your current pickguard?

oh yeah my bad...Hard to tell i'm new at this huh? 😁 .

should i loosen the strings or just take them off until i'm done tracing and then restring?
