Asuming he has the '72 deluxe or whatever the squire equivelant is called, otherwise there's only one volume and one tone, in which case it just wires up like a normal single coil equiped telecaster.
While you have it appart and are re-wireing it, it's worth actually looking at the circuit and finding out what all the parts actually do electronically and how this affects the sounds, may sound boring but it's an invaluable thing to know for future reference!
