What type of amp should i get for my jag-stang?

have been shopping for amps for my jag-stang I had new pick-ups installed a JB and a Texas Special. I am looking at buying a combo amp for practice use and some for larger venues varying in price.

And I have been checking the user reviews at http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data on the amps

They are in no particular order:

1. Roland Micro Cube Battery Powered Amp with COSM and Effects 125.00

2. Crate FXT120 Guitar Combo Amp with DSP 380.00

3. Behringer Vintager GM110 Combo Amp 70.00

4. Crate FXT65 Combo with DSP 280.00

5. Crate XT15R 15W Guitar Combo Amp 100.00

6. FXT30 Guitar Combo Amp with DSP 200.00

7. Tech 21 Trademark 30 30W Guitar Combo/DI Amplifier 280.00

8. B-52 LG-7512 75W 12 Solid State Guitar Combo 300.00

I am lean toward crate because I think they give you more bang for your buck than marshall or the other name brands.

Let me know what you think of my picks.

Check the prices on a Roland Cube 30 or Cube 60.

Great beginner/intermediate type amps.

definitely check into the rolands... i have one and they're pretty good for their size and price. easy and versatile in studio scenarios...

only lacking factor is that it's not "uber" loud.

thank you for your opinions but rolland is that the ####? it seems a little cheese. No offense but is rolland the best buy for a beginner? or crate? or Line 6?

Go Vox Valvetronix. The 30watt is plenty loud and lots of effects, if you want louder you can get a 50watt or the 100watt twin.

You are leaning towards Crate - so go for the FXT120.

At my school we have Tech 21s and they're pretty good for a solid state amp, as well as pretty loud.

I had a chat with a person from musicansfriend and he told me that he wasnt a big fan of tech21 but he seem to like line 6 spidersII 210 amp. I was on ebay looking at destortion pedals Boss DS-1 that are moddified does any one know any thing about modding of these pedals? I won a practice amp it is a CrateXT15R

ah u went Crate! there my least favorite amp company ah well if thats what u like then hey. But the DS-1 idk mods i dont mod pedals really not my thing i have 1 stock and its pretty good but the DS-2 Is way better!

I'd go with either a Twin Reverb, or a mesa boogie rack mounted system like a studio.22 with some Crown power amps or something.
