Range Life - J-mascis

Does anyone know where i can aquire the tabs or basic note progressions for j mascis version of range life? I have the teenage fanclub version. and tried to match the two together. but not luck, jay does a barred a when tf does an open g. i tried bringing everything up like that but...... no such luck

Have you heard both versions Doog? My Crooked Rain came with two cds, and it has a different version of RL on each. One of them goes on to say something like:

Out on tour with the Smashing Pumpkins,

blah blah...

The Stone Temple Pilots, they're elegant bachelors,

That part is tight too.

Yeah, that's the "proper" album version, those lyrics are aweeeeeesoooome.

I got the "Expanded" version of CRCR too, I think it was actually slightly cheaper than the normal version I'd bought a few years beforehand! Not listened to it much yet, I'm not sure why I even bought it, I've never really cared about alternate or live versions of album tracks. Oh well.

i bought the crcr double. I actually liked some of the b side tunes better than the proper versions and it was like 11.00 brand new.

p.s. the song(s) i am talking about are on the j-mascis john peel/ bbc sessions cd, its kinda hard to come across but its on amazon;. its got alot of good stuff on it. probly the coolest sounding freakscene. its aucoustic. with distortion. total j style.

and the alone on there is so freaking cool.

you should just buy it actually. its worth every penny.

Yeah, I read up on that, sounds awesome. Had a look on Soulseek but there was ONE GUY with the session and he had a queue of about a billion songs long.

Huge sidetrack on J.Mascis here, but for those who haven't heard yet, Mr. Dinosaur himself gets featured on two new tracks off of Mew's new album, and the Glass Handed Kites. The fantastic 6/8 to 4/4 Why Are You Looking Grave? makes good use of his sinister gravel and grind, a stark contrast to lead singer Jonas Bjerre's boyish squeaks. An Aberdeen City-native friend of mine here treated me the album as a wedding gift(odd, eh?) and it's one of those seamless nightmare-type adventures with no breaks between songs, unlike the refreshing "greatest hits up to now"-type collection Frengers was. Good stuff, very coherent presentation of a now-mature Mew.

Mew are incredible; Frengers is ace, and the new one is ace but in a totally different way.

Have you seen them live? Best live sound I've ever heard at a rock gig.

I haven't heard the Mascis version, but Everything Flows is a pretty simple chord progression. Shouldn't be too tough to figure out.

Oh yeah- and Teenage Fanclub doesn't use open chords, so I'm not sure about your tabs. I'll look into that.

Woah! Nice pic. I think I've seen Pavement more than any other band, even with Mr John Peel introducing them in Liverpool! Great stuff.
