If u r looking for actual single coil I'd say SD 1/4 lbs strat or Jaguar pup would b good.

If u. just want a single coil SIZE then a SD hotrails. Or for cheaper u can try the gfs version, but a used hotrails can b had for a good price.

what if you don't happen to have a jaguar so where exactly would you find a spare jag-pickup? Is there a way I could just order one directly from fender, or musicans friend, or guitar center?

of course! But I know that realistically i can't purchase every kind of guitar pickup...So that's why I like to hear suggestions from people who've had good experiences w/certain pickups. That way I can narrow my focus based on your guys suggestions.

My fave is the bridge pickup in a 62 Telecaster re-issue, the AV series, I think. Balance all the way 😎

I'm also a fan of good, old-fashioned strat pickups. I like things simple and classic.

IMO if single coil a Quarterpounder . A stack would be a Hotrail or a JB stack .

If you want to go " economic " do a GFS Lil Puncher or a GFS Brighton Rock single coil..
