Some Fender Mexi's have that plastic truss rod adjust slot plug on the headstock. That makes me 🤮

The Mexi vintage design necks look better IMO. YMMV 😐

you seriosuly are kidding right? im pretty sure they use different woods, the fit and finish will be better on the mia;s. the hardwear will be amazingly better, as well will be the pickups.

Its a daft question, theres a big price difference for a reason. The USA is generally worth the money...its just better. Ive got one. Never played a guitar like it and would never sell it. My cousin had a mex strat, was on a par with a good squire in my opinion in terms of fit and finish as well as playability and sound. If you dont want to shell out for a USA one, I recommend a japanese one if you can get hold, theyre generally very similar quality to USA guitars. Just dont 'slump' for a mexican one, you'll regret it down the line

If you get mexican, I would get the "vintage" ones. They have a few nicer features like better pickups and kluson style tuners. The standards are average guitars, but you can get better.

Otherwise go jap or us.

i think the american vintage fenders are better. but for other "american series" and stuff, i wouldn't really bother buying american

A week ago I talked to some guy in a guitar shop. Though I disagreed when he said Mustang are kids toys and no pros take them serious, he did say one thing good: guitar designs reached perfection in the 50's/60's and since then nothing revolutionary has come of guitars.

There is a huge difference between the MIM standards and an MIA standard. The MIM standard's are by no means bad guitars, but the MIA's just feel so much better, the necks feel so much nicer. I have one of each, and I love both, but my MIA standard wins hands down. The pickups sound much nicer, the quality of the woods is much better. I like the bridge better. The MIM classic series guitars are VERY nice though! My '72 Tele deluxe reissue is MIM and it is one of the nicest guitars that I have ever played. I actually play that more than my MIA strat now! The classic series is the best deal that Fender has IMO.

I have a MIM '72 RI thinline tele, the day I baught it I also tried an MIA Fat Tele and can honesly say I totally prefered the MIM. I think most of it is simply down to the individual. I think the quality of MIA's is more consistant, but all in all, I'm beyond happy with my Tele.

see, now your compaireing two different animals, the '72 ri tele's are indeed beyond fantastic guitars(i played the thinline, and the deluxe the same day last week at guitar centere they were hottness) anyways, your basic mim strat, compaied to your basic mia strat, the mia will eb loads better. as well as, teles, and vintage re-issues. mia guitars are just better, there is now way around it. that being said, i love my mim strat to pieces, it plays lovely, sounds alright stock. i guess i just got lucky.

i would say that many great guitar designs came out in the 50;s and 60's

BUT the 75 jag style is the sweetest thing ever. blocks, and black pickguard with maple neck. and you honestly cannot deny the greatness of the 72 tele. and who can forget about the invention of coil taps active electronics and so on.
