Hello,
"First Time/Long Time" 😀
Hoping you might be able to help me with a problem/question, also hoping this isn't a hopelessly stupid question. Preface: I'm a total novice when it comes to guitar electronics.
Long story short, I have a '72 Mustang, that the previous owner modded to a ridiculous extent. I've had it for 17 years, it was my first guitar..but I'm just finally getting around to trying to restore it. The upshot was.. the guy routed out the body .. a lot. he routed out the control plate area, in order to put in a strat-style pickup selector, removed the pickup switches, no control plate, etc. some of the routing makes sense, some doesn't.. in any event. I have the electronics still from that version of the guitar, but the pot's don't fit in the control plate.only the shaft fits through, but not the threading.. so the only thing holding it on is the knob, which seems all kinds of wrong. Maybe I'm missing it, but looking online, I've not seen any pots that look like they'll fit. is there a specific pot that I need in order to fit the threading through the control plate?
thanks for any help
