Ok, I have a Jaguar HH Classic sunburst. After MUCH research I think I have an idea of what I want to do to this guitar. Need some opinions.
1. Pups. Going for a aged Fender Jaguar neck pup found here: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/pickups_fenderj.htm
I really want the aged cover and claw for original jag look.
Bridge pup is gonna be a JB I think. So yea, single coil in neck, humbucker in bridge. That brings us to..
2. Pickguard. Going for TORTOISE SHELL RED found here: http://www.wdmusic.com/fender_jaguar_pi ... 1205r.html. I know I will have to router it out for the humbucker. Should work yea?
3. Tuning keys. I have NO idea what to get. Want to keep that vintage look but need something VERY reliable as I will be touring with it. Suggestions?
4. Was considering a classic bridge but I really don't need my string popping off the saddles on stage. I use .11 to .56 strings so maybe that wouldn't be a prob. Don't know. And what would SOUND better? Old style or HH style?
5. Neck plate with big old school "F" on it. Just like the way it looks.
So basically that's it. I really like a glassy, sweet tone with attack and good full bottom end. SO my neck pickup is what i use mostly. I play heavy but not metal. Radiohead, Muse, Sonic Youth. LOVE some Nirvana tones as well. Playing this thing through a Bogner Alchemist. Thanks sooooo much for any opinions. I love this forum!!!
