Nirvana/Jagstang question

I was wondering if anyone knows if Kurt Cobain used the Jagstang in the the last recorded Nirvana song "You Know Your Right"

Definately not. You can hear him picking the strings behind the bridge in the intro. That means it's very probably his Jaguar.

I dunno 'bout that...

with distortion, and your fingers lightly touching the strings on the F powerchord (1 3 3x x x x) you simply pluck the E & A behind the bridge and you can emulate those notes quite easily and convincingly.

EDIT: Actually, you should detune 1/2 a step and play F# D E

I'm with gareth on this, since I can get almost the exact same notes/sound from behind the bridge on my Jaguar as on "You Know You're Right", and I have a near identical string/bridge setup as he has.

No im almost 100 percent sure its behind the Jaguar bridge I read that somewhere in the mass of Nirvana sites.

I'm not debating on what guitar he used to record the song, I'm just saying the jagstang can be used successfully to replicate the sound.

Kurt didnt like the jagstang, he thought it was an ugly child and shunned it. Never used to record and ONLY after modifying it he used it live, but he still disliked it.

I doubt he disliked it, or he wouldn't have used it live at all. It's not like he was short of guitars to play.
