I have a 69 reissue with a super distortion in it, though i still have the stock 250k pots in it, but as far as the strings, i have 10-52s on there, as well as on my jagstang, but my strat has bullet 9s on it that i really like so i may try that. use what feels most comfortable to you i say, in my case, the 10-52s with the 250k pots are too bassy, so for me i might use lower guage, but like i said, use whats comfortable.
