Duo-sonic/mustang projecty thing...

I have a question... never post here but bah...

If i got some form of duo-sonic (either MIM or Squier) took of the pickguard, routed that line across the top for the mustang controls and replaced the pickguard with a mustang pickguard and control plate.. do you think it would fit? would the pickups be spaced apart the same? I know screw hole would be different but thats okay...

Just a general thought...

I think it would. Duo's of different era's/origins are'nt my fortay though so im not 100% sure.

I really want to... But i think a nice strat comes first.... then I'll do this is a cheap duo comes on ebay....

I hope someone sees this eventually who has both and could measure it for me...

I might just do this.

I got a Squier Cyclone body.

I know the scale isn't exactly the same but I could put mustang pickups, controls and pickguard on it, right ?

If it was a 64+ duo/musicmaster it would fit perfectly. I dont know anything about the MX/Squier ones. if it was a 50's duo/musicmaster it wont fit. it also wont fit on the 50's squier MM/DS or what ever it is.

A bonus about the 64+ duosonics and music masters is they are already routed like a mustang, 100% identical 'cept for the vibrato. You could find one or even just the body cheap on ebay if your patient too!

I knew this.... but I can't afford one. Thats why i was wondering about the squier and the mexican bodies...
