Is it possible for me to change the pickups in my Japan Fender Mustang for some Fender Hot Noisless strat pickups? I like the Mustang pickups but I want some high output ones.

Absolutely. They are interchangable with normal strat pickups. You could also take a look at some other brands like lace sensor, seymour duncan, emg, dimarzio and GFS.

Thanks, i've been looking at some fender lace sensors but i haven't decided yet, but the fender tone is extremely important to me.. I love it

GFS have tried to do an exact repro of that in their 'neovin' line.

All of this is well and good but I'd like to replace the pickups in my Mustang and still use the covers. I know I have to get non-staggered poles.. And I have to remove the bobbin from the replacement pickup, I'm just worried about getting something home from the shop and it not fitting inside the cover.
