Agree with both on this. But really what is more practical for this kid, a cheap tube amp with some decent built in distortion or stacking loads of boutique overdrives??
I prefer sketchy black sabbath demo tapes to 'attack attack's crap with their mesa boogies and schecters. However, tone is important, and it cannot be denied.
