question about japanese reissue colors (jg66-85)

i am trying to decide whether to buy a fiesta red or old cherry red jg66-85, and i was looking here for a reference: http://www.guitarjapan.com/fenderjapan/ ... 6-85.html#

but its still hard to get an idea from internet pictures... i like the fiesta red, but would prefer a matching headstock like on the old cherry red, but is it really that dark? can anyone compare it to candy apple red?

Thats a tuffy. It almost looks Candy Apple Red, But yeah it does look alittle dark. Here is a pic of my old CAR Jagmaster, Old Cherry Red is probly alittle darker than this pic.

OCR is old candy apple red. It's not hugely different to CAR. Just a bit darker, and imo nicer.

just a few years after i got my sunburst jag (which was when they stopped importing japanese fenders to the US give or take a month) i saw a candy apple red cij jag with matching headstock, and it's the only guitar that's EVER come between me and my jag. obviously now i have more sentimental attatchment and would never let it go, but at the time i was seriously considering a trade. i never saw a CAR with matching headstock jag again. and when i asked the guitar guy if it'd ever come back (sniff) he said he didn't know...
