where can i find hss pickups for a mustang

I will probably buy a fender mustang and i wana change the pick ups for hss and i wana know where can i find some or wich ones are compatible.

IF your getting a stock Fender Mustang. That would be a custom job for a professional luthier.

The guitar body would be routed for the bridge humbucker and middle single coil. DIY is not advised here unless your don't mind ruining the instrument if things go wrong.

A custom pickguard job for the HSS. New custom wiring and electronics for pickup switching.

For pickups regular sized humbuckers and single coils will work. If a PRO would be working on your Mustang. Get whatever you want Mini-Humbucker, P90's or whatever. Go Crazy!

I agree with Imadrid. And for the substantial cost of having it done right, you'll be left with a Mustang shape, neck and bridge/temolo...but the electronics, controls, pickguard & sound of something else.

You might be planning to finding a cheap used Mustang for this project. Make an informed decision, then enjoy your axe.

I agree that you should have this professionally done. Mustangs are routed for SS, and anything else will involve wood cutting.

I would recommend one of the singlecoil sized humbuckers for the bridge if you want to do it cheap without the risk of screwing something up. You could also try to buy two of those buckers, and maybe try to wire the neck pup so it'll act as two separate pups. Then you'll only have to cut enough wood for a 5 way.

Wait for someone else to add in on this before you try it. I've never done this before, but it's just an idea.

You could get two rail buckers and wire the weird switches to be individual on/off/split controls for each pup that'd prolly provide similar results to what you're looking for minus the middle pickup settings
