I have a line on one of the Jaguar Baritones that Fender was making until fairly recently. I understand that it is actually not a real baritone (which are strung B to 😎, but is really more like the current Bass VI model (which is strung E to E).
Can I convert this to a baritone just by putting on lighter strings and tuning B to B? I understand the scale length is 28.5". I believe that puts it into "true baritone" territory (the Danelectro baritone is 30"). Is there anything else I should be concerned about?
