kurtified 65 ri

I just want to know if its possible to kurtified a 65 ri...

I bought a light red tort pick guard

a seymour duncan jb jr pick ups

a white mustang pick up

and i am currently in wait of a daphne blue mustang

so i want to know if it will look okay or be a total desaster

that should work out just fine. if its a JB junior, you won't even have to route the body cavity or the pickguard. i have a full size JB in one of my 'stangs and one in a strat. i love those things, tho i haven't ever used the jr version. sounds like a cool project, make sure to post some pics. the only noticeable difference between a 65 ri and a 69 ri is the forearm and belly contours on the 69. the 65 doesn't have the contours. Kurt's were sonic blue, but i personally like daphne better. 😁

I "Kurtified" my 65 Mustang and it came out really good. But I am going to also swap out the bridge for a Tune-o-matic.

seriously dudethis is exactly how i want my exepted that the hambuker will be black.

But where did you get the pick guard that is my question the one i bought did not fit realy well

Check ebay, but you can get people to cut one for ya, but you'll probabaly have to send them a tracing. Most places don't have templates for the RI. Which is stupid since they have to make one to make your guard when you order one.

I got my pickguard and pickup covers from http://www.darrenriley.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=861, the only pickguard that is tortoise and is not custom made comes from the Olympic White model.

Seems like one could make a killing if they could get these Japan Fenders here in the states without all the overhead.

Warmoth.com Is a fantastic site that will personally build the whole guitar, pickups included, for you, and probably cheaper and less of a hassel then buying a Kurtified Mustang or Moding one you pickup somewhere. 😁
