Do yr Super-Sonics still have the stock pickups in them? I'm not sure if they used the same ones in all the Squier Vistas, but the pickups in my Jagmaster are pretty crap, they seem to have no guts really at all. Are they any better in the Super-Sonic?

I had a Jagmaster, and have four Super-Sonics that have been gutted. My memory of the stock Jagmaster (Vista) was that the tones were pretty bland / flat. The Super-Sonic ones were OK, but I swapped them all out anyways for other aftermarket ones. Happy with all of them.

The fifth Super-Sonic project will likely have a Seymour Duncan BG1400 stacked Esquire (Pearly Gates) pickup for the bridge, and maybe a TV Jones Power-Tron for the neck.

Interesting, so they are different pickups. I thought they must be, I'd never really heard anyone complain about the stock Super-Sonic pickups. I'm definitely going to replace them though, they're pretty awful. Thanks for the help. 😁

hey President 😉 yes i still have the stock pickups on my Super Sonic(never bothered to replace them at all)...I'm really happy with them at the moment...the neck pickup's cover got smashed a bit but they're still pretty decent, functonal and 'ok' for my taste at the moment...but im open to change 😀

i honestly don't know how they would compare to a Vista Jagmaster pickup 'cause i never had a chance to try one.(but i would'nt doubt over the quality of Squier Vista pickups 'cause they are Japanese specs) I watched some vids in youtube 'bout chinese jagmster pickups being replaced(the stock pickups sound 'ok' to me - well probably depends on the year Squier made them) and i never seem to hear the difference after.well its's actually all up to you...its what sounds good to your ear and its where you feel satisfied/comfortable.

Will do my good fellow, thanks for the info. I'm actually thinking of replacing them with singlecoils, but I'll see how it goes when I get money.

I would'nt replace the pups in my ri jagmaster if i were gigging cos they did me no wrong the last time so i presume yr vista has slightly better ones, the supersonic pups are ok too.
