Wanna-be Esquire

Hey Guys,

My latest little project.

Took a beat to hell Nashville deluxe tele and made it into a wannabe esquire looking tele. It had some possible structural issues so I took care of those and set it up.

It still has the two pups under the scratchplate and kills about a third of the volume but actually sounds pretty cool.

I plan to invert the tone and volume and make the first knob a dummy as I sparsely use it but plan on using the selector switch often.

It’s beat to hell but I think it looks great.

Most importantly it plays and sounds wonderful.

not exactly what I'd call "beat to hell"

still looks pretty killer dude. Being honest though I dun see a ton of point in making the first knob a dummy, crank it up and leave it alone, problem solved and you still have the option of using it when you want to.....

Understand where you are coming from about the volume knob. The issue is I hit it a lot when I switch the selector. In all my years of playing I rarely use a vol control.

volume control is a beautiful beautiful thing once you start to use it to change your tone. Once you start you will be constantly fiddling with it i guarantee..

Got what your saying and have gotten the same reaction from alot of people. For the most part tone and volume for me are at 10.

I have attempted quite a few times to try it but I am too damn sloppy and it sparsely works out.

To be honest, the spacing of that control plate looks VERY odd (but it could be the pic). You could buy a blank Tele plave and find someone to rout it with any spacing you want.

But what other have said is basically correct. IMO when it comes to something like volume and tone controls, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Those two guitars are #### cool.
