Hey everybody...I've got an original '65 Mustang, passed down from dear old Da when I was a wee lad of just 15. I foolishly had some ugly looking roller type bridge installed when I was 18, but thankfully I kept the original vibrato set up and bridge. So tonight, I took of that old '80's hair metal looking POS and the original plate is still ok, except for two extra small holes drilled into it. But I realized quickly that I'm missing one of the posts with the spring attached to it. I don't know if the shady bastards snagged it many years ago (paranoia, I hope) or if it just got lost along the way. Honestly, I'm surprised I found what I did AND the original pickups (which were a classic example of how not everything "vintage" is sacred; those things sound terrible! I'm thinking of having them rewound, but would I be better off with something new? Also, can I just buy that one post with the spring? I'm almost wondering if I couldn't just have a matching piece machined if I can't find one. Doesn't look to hard, but I'm just starting to get familiar with the mechanical side of this classic.
