Wiring gauge for jazzmaster

I want to rewire my jazzy with cloth wire and i was wondering the difference between the 22, 20 and 18 gauge wire.

Any other instructions are welcome.

Industry standard is 22.

22 it is.

Or if its PVC you can go 24 also.

Just remember the higher the number the thinner the wire.

Then you'll have thicker wire in your guitar.

It will make absolutely no difference practically, electronically or tonally.
