Tele Vs Paul

Howdy regulars! Due to my fascination with Jimmy Page and my new found guitar budget I have to make a choice.

Epiphone Les Paul Custom (Black) Or a Classic Series Telecaster. They're the same price and I'm about to implode! Because exploding would be far too confrontational.

Well, both are going to be decent guitars... Of course the best thing you could do would be to play both, but if you can't, what other kinds of sounds are you going for? And what Page tone is yr favourite? Also remember that you can get a thick sound out of a Tele and a jangly sound out of an LP, they're both very versatile.

I like the Zeppelin I and II tone when he used his Tele's and Esquires. But a les paul has that later Untitled and Houses of the Holy tone which makes me smack my gob too. Although, the Custom uses the 60's slim neck which I dislike compared to the 50's fatty. But then again, Modern Teles, even vintage reissues, use those thinner C necks. Is there a Telecaster under $700 with a fat C or U neck?

Epiphone Les Paul Custom, no contest. The Chinese made Epi's are really good these days.

I don't know if there's a Tele like that, but there probably is. Why don't you look up the specs of them and find out? Also remember to look at brands other that the obvious, I mean you could get both a Tele style and an LP style guitar from somewhere like Rondo Music (who are well known for being ridiculously good for the money) for the same cash as one Epi or Fender.

Unfortuneatly, my ego prevents me from buying copies unless they're Univox or Tokai. It's hard to fight my nature.

I think fighting your nature might be a good option to consider at this point. cuz Josh makes a good point that would be valuable to think on at the very least.

I really hope you're a friend of Feedback's(LOL). Because I'd hate to learn one of my Jag-stang heroes is crazy. By the by, this is my way of dodging your excellent point.

um..... I guess not as much as I was when i made this account, that was very much in a phase where I was addicted to feedback and noise...... I definitely still appreciate it though. You can do some very cool stuff with it
