'65 Mustang neck width?

I'm out of town without my shortscales, a '65 vintage 24" scale Mustang and a reissue Duo-Sonic. I need to confirm the neck width at the nut. I believe it's the same for both guitars but not certain.

I wanna say it's 1 1/2"...anyone know for sure?

For Mustangs (I think it has to do with Serial numbers) this is what good ol' Wiki has to say, "A" width - 1.5", "B" width - 1 5/8" and the Duo has a 1.5"

Okay, Lefty, thanks... 😉 ...that sounds right. I wasn't sure if it was the Mustang A or B neck that is 1 5/8". You mention serial numbers. Can I assume that regardless of vintage or reissue, all the B necks are the same width?

My vintage Mustang is a B and therefore would be 1 5/8", and that's the same width as my new Blueshawk, so the transition between the two would be easy.

Funny I didn't notice my reissue Duo being more narrow. Only slightly so.

Hi, Kris and all,

I'm not up to speed with higher-tech procedures, so posting a demo is beyond my skill right now. But I can tell you the BluesHawks are famous for what their Varitone control produces. This little control has six positions which, in combination with the three-way pickups selector, produces a range of 18 distinctly different tones.

The tones are set to duplicate several Tele tones, several Strat tones, several Les Paul tones, and a few more subtle variations.

Heel-less, set-neck; chambered, ergonomic, string-through body; low profile bridge; two AlNiCo (grade 5) P90s; a hum-cancelling dummy coil...people who know these guitars often wonder why Gibson stopped 😕 production.
