terjag I use 9-42's on my jag every so often. I was wondering if anyone else does? The 12's feel like steel rods to me. I usually use 9-46.

Dougler I use 11's usually on my strat and other guitars, but for some reason I like putting 10's on my bronco/shortscales
Earth 10-52 on my fenders and gibson. You get used to bigger strings after a couple days then 9's feel like cotton.I used to use 12-56, the 56 barely fit thru the tuner post.
Robbmonster I own a Jagmaster, and I tend to use 11-48 on that thing, 10-46 on my Strats, and 10-42 on my Tele.I can't imagine using 9-42 on a shortscale, I like the strings to fight back a bit.
Mad-Mike I've been using 009-042 and 009-040 on my Jaguar since I got it, ditto for the Jazzmaster I built. No problems.
feedbackismyfriend I use 10's on everything...... and the cheapest 10's I can find as long as they have an unwound g.......... oh yeah coated strings and flatwound (er whatever the smooth ones are called) strings are the devil imo.......
Earth With drop tunings you generally need a bigger string/string set. I play in Drop C# (Db)and a 52 in C# is under pretty much the same tension as a 46 in E so there is no string buzz.I used to play in drop D but I wanted to keep the tensions about the same as a standard 10-46 set in E so I used a tension calculator and done some math and came to the conclusion that drop C#(Db)is perfect.
irish_punk13 On all of my guitars I use 12-56, and only tune 1/2 step down. Almost all of my guitars are short scale, and it feels pretty damn good.
