I'm sad I don't have a picture of it, but during Head Like a Hole last night at the NIN show in Chicago, Aaron North was playing this bastardized mix of a Telecaster body and a Jaguar neck.

It was HOT.

And then he smashed it. ☹

I thought it was a pretty sweet combo, though...not as great as just a straight up Jaguar, but the Tele body works pretty well with the shorter neck and the big headstock. Perhaps this will be some sort of project for me in the future...

He had another one tonight that, again, met an untimely demise. Man, what a kick ass show. 😀

the tele custom was issued in the 70,s and had a strat neck with the big head stock and a humbucker or two.it was reissued sometime in recent years but both guitars were 25.5 scale.i was thinking you might have seen one of these.glad to see trent can still put on a good show!

i believe he was refering to the tele deluxe?

yup,your right.the custom still had the regular headstock with one neck humbucker and a single coil in the bridge,it was introduced around 72.the deluxe was introduced in 73 and had two buckers and the strat neck.not sure when they reissued them but their very cool guitars.

Disagree, but whatev...just got back from Indy. I saw 'em three nights in a row (bringing the total to 10 times in the last year)...frickin' awesome. Last night there was just a standard Telecaster in Head Like a Hole, but man...it got its #### ruined.

And the more I think about it, the more I'm almost positive it was a Jaguar-shaped neck, but it had no decals on the head whatsoever. Or is that how they come?

It may have just been a knock-off Tele body and a knock-off Jaguar neck since I have this feeling buying those parts and making the guitars would be pretty expensive and definitely not worth having one to smash every night.

Either way, I really like how it looked...maybe I can find a cheapo one online somewhere... 😁

You couldn't put a Jaguar neck onto a Telecaster body; they're different scale lengths, so everything would be messed up.

Well, I just fired out "Jaguar neck" because it had the big headstock. It could very well just be a big headstock Strat neck.

And I was looking into that and came to the same conclusion, actually. It put somewhat of a damper on my project goal of making a Teleguar. ☹

He may be using a real jag neck and tele body as after they smash um Techs put them back together thats what the KuRdTzZz did they didnt break nearly close to what it looked like. So its very possible NIN doing the same thing.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

Definately not a Jag neck. Almost ALL FENDERS during the CBS era had big headstocks, Jaguars were just the first to have them prior to it.

personally i think it was a tele dulxe they have em with rosewood as well.

could be a jazzy neck. an early 70-79 style, the stock got bigger. and i think around 74 the logo got big and black. or maybe it was earlier than that.
