Once again hello.

Finally the blonde jaguar is in my hands.(thanks mr.bernd for this 😀

And after a week of playing i have some thoughts that i wanted to share with you.

1.The buzz is here...

options: 1.Mustang Bridge+Buzz stop is that stuff enough to reduce it? and which is the right height of sadles on setup?

option n2. http://www.fenderjaguar.net/setup.htm works really all this tips?

2.Mute

i also want to install the mute on jaguar...

what parts i will need? 2 screws+ MUTE ASSEMBLY+Mute Plunger+Foam Mute Strip is that all the parts?

3.The guitar has a hot rail pick up on bridge position but i am not satisfiet with the sound.

i want more warm sound,the hot rail is very treble pick up for me.

the stock pick up on the neck its sounds perfect for me,and when i play with the two pick ups i like the sound.

i wanted some suggestions of pickups for jaguar,to have a warm jazzy sound.i heard for lolar and novak..please make some suggestions

Don't know too much about mutes as they suck but if you want a warmer guitar reduce the ohms of the lead circuit pots down to 500K.

continue with some questions

how many capacitors i will need for the jag?

1 for the tone

1 for the volume

1 for the bass cut?

and 1 for the lead rythm tone and volume?

i decided to put 0.1 orange drops 225p but i still dont know which volt is the right for the capacitor?(the target is a warm jazzy sound)

i will change the potentiometers for the volume and tone to 500k

or with standar posts? because i want to put and the mute plug,will fit with this brigde?

You have the capacitors all wrong.

This is what you need:

Lead tone cap: .01uF (microfarad)

Lead tone resistor:56k 1/4 watt

Bass cut switch: .003uF (which is 3nF "Nanofarads")

Rhythm circuit: .01uF

100 volts maximum for these caps as if you go bigger the caps will be HUUUUGE in size.Look for 50-60 volt caps and you can use ANY caps as they all sound the same. Orange drops are no better than any other cheap caps.

And here is a vintage correct diagram I drew:

Those little black triangle represent ground/earth and all must be joined together, like the shielding and then that must be joined to the back of the volume pot. Also the tremolo or bridge must be ground to the pot as well.

To get an idea of what I'm meaning google image search "vintage jaguar shielding" or similar and check some pics out.

you might also add a treble bleed kit for each volume pot (.001uf or .002 uf capacitor + 100k or 150k resistor) any combination will do. I use .001uf cap + 150k resistor for my jazzmaster's upper(with a mallory cap) and lower (with a paper in oil cap) circuit.

use this only if you want to prevent treble loss when rolling down your volume knobs.

Jaguars usually have more treble than jazzmasters so this is optional.
