I'm in the midst of adding a 3rd pickup (middle) and doing some changes to the wiring system for my CIJ jag. I've gotten the existing bridge cavity expanded to accomodate the 3rd pickup (Hot Rails). My idea is to retain the standard bridge/neck sounds as well as add a hot output humbucker sound, hence the Hot Rails right next to the bridge pickup. Now I'm stuck at the wiring part (I'm a total noob on it). I intend to install a gibson style 3-way toggle on the lower control panel as pickup selector, replacing 1 of the sliding switches. One position will toggle to Hot Rails while the other will toggle the bridge/neck pickups with their respective on/off switches (which make up the remaining 2 sliding switches on the lower plate).
Here's a crappy preliminary diagram I've drawn (modified from a LP diagram) but I'm not sure whether it's possible (okay, I'm stumped on the vol/tone part for the bridge/neck pickups and don't know how the wiring goes). Hope you guys can advise me on this configuration and suggest alternatives if this seems impossible to achieve. Any comment is greatly appreciated 😀 I'm counting on you guys on this one! 😆
