Tremolo Issues

I just got a new Jaguar, and while playing with it, found that the Trem-Loc system was too loose, after reading this (http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/cms/...tremolo-system/) walk-through a few times, I decided to try it myself.

The problem is, I can't get it tight enough to prevent it from locking extremely easily (I don't have to apply any pressure to the lock button) without it creaking.

Any ideas/helps/tips/experiences?

people use the trem lock? I thought it was a useless feature.

as for fixing it, no idea i don't own a jag, but i want to know what you use it for...

congrats for the new jag... i think i've posted this before.... jazzmaster tremolo is a really unique vibrato unit very different than anything else like it.

These vibratos have a steep learning curve. All I can suggest is keep at it and read the article again.

They really are very basic to set up and maintain.
