It is most likely deciphered as a 6, 7, or 8 digit neck code used on Fender guitars throughout the 70's.
I am about 80% sure that the "506" would have something to do with Mustangs/Musicmaster/etc. Really the
type of neck it is, or what guitars it could be used on. The last four "2923" would be deciphered as
29 being the 29th week of 1972 (the second to last digit, 2, tells you that) and the last digit, 3, would
mean it was finished on a Wednesday.
So, it would be the guitar NECK was made on the Wednesday in the 29th week of the year 1972. All this tells
you is the neck though so you could very well have a 1973 body, you just can't tell by the code. The neck
is definitely a 1972 neck and the 7 digit code is not unusual. As far as that name goes, you should check this out...
