That's wasn't his black beauty was it? He had a black beauty behind him but I don't think the black beauty was the one he was holding for that line. Dunno, I'll dig the DVD out and check.
I don't see the point in swapping, there isn't going to be any tonal advantage to doing it, if you decide you don't like having the middle pickup just change the wiring to exclude it. Only reason I can think of is that maybe you prefer the look of the cherry one. The guitarist in my band uses an Epi Black Beauty and it's a damn lovely guitar although his selector switch has started playing up recently, think it might need a new switch, still, that's no biggy, it sounds awesome and is lovely to play. I vote keep it!
