It may even be something like a truss rod adjustment needed, it really is hard to tell without actually seeing the guitar. Have you changed the gauge in strings since you bought the guitar? did it play nicely when you first got it? was it set up in the shop beforehand?
If its given you a lot of problems i'd seriously pay for a full set up and get everything solved once and for all.
